An app designed to streamline and enhance the equipment inspection process in the construction industry is said to be a flexible and efficient tool that is customisable to diverse asset classes, providing a comprehensive solution for dealers, rental companies, and equipment traders.

The current approach to equipment inspection can be time-consuming, complicated, and costly and may not meet industry standards, often necessitating specialist inspectors. The Inspeq app from Krank is designed to address these challenges by offering a customisable easy-to-use inspection process suitable for various equipment types within the construction sector.

Driven by extensive customer feedback, the company says it developed the app to fill a significant market gap. "Customers consistently asked for a lightweight and flexible inspection tool, so we developed Inspeq - a solution that streamlines the inspection process and utilises advanced AI technology," states Krank CEO Mark Turner.

The app offers over 30 detailed inspection templates, for machines ranging from motor graders to crawler cranes. Future releases of the app aim to offer customisation, enabling users to adapt the inspection process for specific asset types. This adaptability will help improve efficiency, reducing the time and complexity traditionally associated with equipment inspections.

It features tools such as high-resolution photographs, 360° video walk-arounds, voice notes, additional photos, and text annotations.

The app also provides an AI-powered voice transcription module that streamlines inspections by eliminating manual data entry. Users can follow on-screen prompts to identify components needing attention, such as logging hour meter details or evaluating paintwork. Inspeq captures and transcribes verbal reports in real time, which helps reduce the time required to produce detailed inspection reports.

The app aims to enhance credibility and quality assurance in the buying and selling process, particularly for international transactions where physical inspections can be time-consuming and expensive. It allows for thorough inspections on all machines, not just high-value ones, improving transparency and trust in equipment transactions.

"Our unique configurator enables us to customise each customer's database to suit their specific asset types – excavators, cranes, skid steers, trucks – whatever,” says Turner.

The App is available on the Apple app Store and Google Play, and supports offline use. It is compatible with smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers.
